Soft-Touch Panic Alarm Button
The Soft-Touch Panic Alarm Button enables vulnerable individuals to call for help at the touch of a button. It can be easily pressed with the cheek or head, making it ideal for those with limited physical capabilities, and pairs with the MPPL transmitter and pager to create the MPPL Pager Alarm System as well as the POCSAG range of long-distance transmitters.
What's Included?
- 1 x Soft-Touch Panic Alarm Button
- 1 x Safety Pin
- 1 x Velcro Attachment
Please note that, in order for the panic button to work, a transmitter and pager are required. Please see the MPPL transmitter and pager for compatible components.
Who Can Use the Panic Alarm Button?
The Panic Alarm Button is specifically designed to assist individuals with limited physical movement when they need to call for help. It can be attached to a pillow or on a wheelchair cushion when used inside the house or care home, ensuring that vulnerable individuals such as stroke patients can alert a carer or loved one when help is required.
How Does the Soft-Touch Panic Alarm Work?
The panic alarm requires a transmitter and pager for operation. To activate the button, the user presses on the soft surface with their head or cheek, and this then signals to the transmitter that help is required. In turn, the transmitter sends an alert to the pager, informing the caregiver that assistance is required.
How Does the Panic Button Stay In Place?
As the Soft-Touch Panic Button is designed for use by patients who spend a lot of time in bed or seated in a chair, it's important that it can be secured in place at an accessible height. To ensure this, a safety pin and a Velcro attachment are included with the button, allowing you to securely affix the button to the pillow or cushion as required.
How Soft Is the Panic Button?
Described as 'soft touch', the Panic Alarm Button features a smooth and soft foam surface that requires the lightest of touches for easier activation. The protective cover can also be removed for washing to ensure good hygiene maintenance.
Will the Panic Button Work in My House?
For an average-sized home, the 100-metre range offered by the panic button should be suitable. However, for certain properties, such as older houses with thicker walls, you may find that the range of your MPPL device is reduced. To counter this, we recommend using the MPPL Pager Alarms Signal Repeater and Booster, which can be used to expand the operating range of your product.
