Optical and Heat Detecting Smoke Alarm
This Bellman Smoke Alarm is constantly monitoring fire by optically watching out for smoke and also measuring the ambient temperature of the room. If the alarm is triggered, it has unique signals depending on smoke or heat activated it. The alarm can be temporarily muted with a silent option to avoid false alarms while cooking. If there is a red light blinking every 50 seconds, this is the low battery indicator.

Where Is the Optimal Placement of the Smoke Alarm?
Hot smoke naturally rises and disperses, so the best placement of the Bellman Visit Optical Smoke Alarm with Heat Detector is in the centre of the ceiling. It should be no closer than half a metre to any of the room's corners. On sloped ceilings, don't place the alarm close to the apex as dead air is trapped here that may prevent the alarm from activating.
The Bed-Shaker
Place the Bed-Shaker in your bed, under your pillow or mattress and, if your Bellman Alarm Clock picks up a signal while you are sleeping, the shaker will vibrate powerfully enough to wake even the heaviest deaf sleepers. The shaker has a 2m long cable to reach your bed from wherever you place your alarm clock and runs on a low voltage making it completely safe.

Will the Bundle Function in a Power Cut?
While the smoke alarm is battery powered and won't be affected by a power cut, the Bellman Visit Deaf Alarm Clock runs from the mains power. However, the alarm clock includes a battery back-up to ensure that it will keep working in an emergency. Operating on four rechargeable AAA batteries, the alarm clock and smoke alarm will be able to function for more than long enough for you to get the mains power back on.
Maintenance of the Safe Value Bundle
These devices come with everything they need to be installed straight out the box and are designed to require minimal maintenance. The alarm clock may need you to charge the back-up batteries and will signal this on the monitor. The smoke alarm should be vacuumed regularly when you clean your home and can be wiped down with a dry cloth if dusty (do not use household cleaning products).
