| Finding the Right Care Call Signwave Magnetic Door Monitor Kit for You28 January 2016 | John The magnetic door monitor is a great way to ensure that those under your care don’t wander and become a danger to themselves – it’s a fantastic sensor to base your Care Call Signwave kit around. Got here by accident? Head to the start of our Care Call Guide to find out which Care Call kit is best for you. Step Four: Choosing Additional SensorsNow that you know you want to base your Care Call Signwave kit around the magnetic door monitor, it’s time to choose what additional sensors you want in your kit. If you’re just after a kit with a Signwave and a Magnetic Door Monitor, this is the kit for you:
The Magnetic Door Monitor will detect when a certain door or window is opened, and will wirelessly alert the Signwave. This makes it great for both preventing elderly people from wandering and putting themselves at risk of falls, as well as ensuring that they don’t get into areas they shouldn’t like certain rooms and cupboards. Carbon Monoxide DetectorYou can also get the Care Call Signwave Magnetic Door Monitor kit with a Carbon Monoxide Alarm:
The Care Call Carbon Monoxide Alarm monitors the levels of carbon monoxide (CO) in the air and alerts the Signwave if the levels are too high. CO is an odourless, colourless gas which can kill quickly, so it’s incredibly important that you know as soon as possible if there are dangerous levels of CO in the home. It’s easy to mount and set up, and it gives you an extra level of peace of mind that you are creating a safe environment for those under your care. Smoke AlarmThe Care Call Signwave Magnetic Door Monitor kit is also available with a Smoke Alarm:
The Care Call Smoke Alarm alerts the Signwave if it detects smoke, enabling you to quickly act for the safety of those under your care. It’s available in two types – Ionisation and Optical. Ionisation smoke alarms use radiation to detect smoke, making them incredibly useful for floors without kitchens, as it gives a good warning of fire. Using this kind of smoke alarm on a floor with a kitchen isn’t recommended due to the risk of natural levels of smoke which kitchens can produce causing false alarms. Optical smoke alarms use light to detect smoke, which makes them less sensitive but makes them ideal for floors with kitchens. They can detect heavier concentrations of smoke which would be cause for concern even from a kitchen and alert you. Or, if you prefer, you can get a Signwave Magnetic Door Monitor kit with both a Smoke Alarm and a Carbon Monoxide Alarm.
Key Fob TransmitterAlternatively, the Care Call Signwave Magnetic Door Monitor kit is available with a Key Fob Transmitter:
The Care Call Key Fob Transmitter is a fantastic addition to this kit. It enables those under your care to alert you if they need help. This not only means that people can get the help they need fast in case of an emergency, but it can also help to prevent falls and wandering by removing any need they have to wander, promoting good habits and improving safety. |
